This guide explains how to integrate Assertiv with AppDynamics using SAML. When this setup is complete, users will be able to log into AppDynamics using their Assertiv account.

Log into your Assertiv Organization (https://<your-org>.assertiv.com) as an Admin user and select the Manage Apps dashboard tile.
Creating the App
Select the plus ( ) or the create app ( ) button to create a new App config.
Search for the AppDynamics application and select the AppDynamics icon.
Configuring the App
You will be prompted for some basic information on the following page.
Signing Certificate: The certificate is used to create a trust between Assertiv and your AppDynamics account. For advanced users, if you have created a certificate you wish to use, select it here. Otherwise (or if you are unsure) you can select "-- Generate New Signing Certificate --".
AppDynamics Service Name: This is the name of the application as you would like it to appear in Assertiv. Make this a descriptive name that your users will understand. E.g "AppDynamics Admin".
After saving there will be space for some more information.
Account Name: The account name of your AppDynamics account or the first part of the URL. If it's https://identity.saas.appdynamics.com/, then your account name would be identity.
SAML Groups: The groups that relate to what roles the user will get when they sign in via this SAML application.

Login to you software as a service account https://*******.saas.appdynamics.com/
Navigate through Settings then Administration and select SAML as the Authentication Provider
Login URL: From the Assertiv app configuration
Login URL Method: POST
Logout URL: Is optional but could be configured with the following were <tenantName> replaces your organisation name:
Identity Provider certificate: Copy and past the public signing certificate from the Assertiv application
SAML Encryption: Leave unchecked
SAML attribute mappings
Username Attribute: username
Display Name Attribute: displayName
Email Attribute: email
SAML Group Mappings
In the Assertiv configuration we have allowed you to set the group value(s), those Assertiv configuration settings correlate to this section in AppDynamics.
SAML Group Attribute Name: Groups-Membership
Group Attribute Value: Multiple Nested Group Values

For your users to access AppDynamics from their Assertiv apps page, you must set up a role, assign users to the role, and give that role permission to access the AppDynamics application.
