Log into Assertiv.
Navigate to the Dashboard page by clicking the home icon () in the top left corner.
Click on the Manage Roles tile.
This will take you to the Role List page.
Click on the name of the role for which you wish to edit the approval process.
This will take you to the Role Detail page.
In order for users to be able to request this role, it must be marked as Requestable on this page.
If a role is marked as requestable but has no approval process steps, then any request for that role will automatically be approved, resulting in the role being granted.
To add approval process steps, click on the plus () icon to the right the Approval Process Steps heading. This will add a new empty approval process step.
The Approver Type can be configured to User or Role. If it is User, then a user must be specified as an Approver. If it is Role, then a role must be specified as the Approver. You must also specify a Timeout value, in hours: this is how long the approver has to make a decision before the request times out.
You can add multiple approval steps. In this case, the approver in the first step must give approval before a request proceeds to the second step. If an approver denies at any step, or if any step times out, then the request terminates and the user does not receive the role.
If Approver Type is set to Role for any step, then any user who is in the Approver role may approve or deny the request. The first user in the Approver role who makes a decision will determine the outcome (approved or denied) of that step.
To save the approval process, click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
